45 Day returns on 04 May 2026 (04.05.26), celebrating 7 years of 7″ vinyl culture and bringing together DJs from around the world for one shared global moment.
What started in 2019 as a simple idea has grown into a worldwide movement, connecting DJs, collectors and music lovers through a shared passion for 45s.
What is 45 Day?
45 Day is a global celebration of 7″ vinyl.
Each year, DJs record 45 minute mixes using 7″ records, sharing their sound, creativity and identity through the format. Alongside the mixes, 45 Day includes livestreams, community projects, and live events that bring the culture into both digital and physical spaces.
From soul to hip hop, reggae to world music, 45 Day reflects the full spectrum of what can be done with 45s.
The Story Behind 45 Day
45 Day was created in 2019 by Criztoz, with the idea of bringing people together around the world to play 45s on one shared day.
When the world changed during COVID-19, the project moved online, inviting DJs to record 45 minute mixes using 7″ vinyl. What began as a response to circumstance quickly became the foundation of a global community.
Since then, 45 Day has expanded into Mixcloud radio shows, livestreams, and talk shows including open conversations around mental health. The community has grown further through projects like 45 Kids, and live events under the We Love 45s banner.
