For our first 7″ Vinyl Summit of 2025, we’re heading to London for a special two-day event celebrating the 45s community.

Day 2 of our summit brings together 45s DJ’s, Producres, Event Organisers and Label Owners from across the UK. Expect an incredible selection of 60’s/70s, Boogie, Covers, Disco, Edits, Funk , Hip Hop, Latin, Reggae, World Music and more, played by some of the most passionate 45s heads in the scene.

The Venue
Cafe 1001 is a vibrant and eclectic venue in the heart of Brick Lane, London, known for its unique blend of coffee, music, and culture. By day, it’s a laid-back café serving specialty coffee and fresh food, while by night, it transforms into a dynamic space for DJs, live music, and underground events. With its intimate atmosphere, outdoor terrace, and high-quality sound system, Café 1001 is a go-to spot for vinyl lovers, electronic music fans, and anyone looking to experience East London’s creative energy.
The DJ’s
Benny Gogz
Benny Gogz began DJing at the ripe young age of just 15 where his influences were largely Hip Hop, Drum and Bass and Old School Hardcore. But like anyone in this industry he was then influenced by House Music at the age of 17 after mixing commercial dance music with a close friend every Friday and Saturday at a nightclub in Shoreham-By-Sea, West Sussex, called Recessions. All it took was one decent proper underground house vinyl from DJ Sneak’s – Polyester EP, which grounded him into his passion for Deep and Soulful House. His first exposure to the growing music scene in Brighton, came in the form of a pop-up radio station named “Energy FM”. The station scored a performance licence for one month only during the summer of 1996, where he was given the drive time slot on a Thursday playing Funky and Soulful house. The radio station introduced him to likeminded people and the incredible local talent who owned their own record stores in Brighton, such as Dulcie Danger’s Danger Trax Records and Mick Fuller’s Urban Records. Like all opportunities it opened doors which led to longtime friendships and to DJ in bars and clubs across the area including: Hector’s House Bar The Escape Club The Ocean Rooms Greens Bar The Zap Club Music Library Club Lo Lounge Club. He was fortuitous in Worthing to play at the The Frog Pond a then local bar. The popularity of the evening inspired the owners to open a club called the “Q Club”. He supported some big-name DJs including the late Paul “Trouble” Anderson and Lenny Fontana. In 1998, like all good stories there had to be end and he decided to hang up his headphones to travel to the USA to play baseball and on his return in 2000, Ben with a longtime friend formed the Lounge Kings which largely played guest spots at the usual haunts for the likes of Mike Gorgeous and Juice FMs Mick Fuller throughout the naughties. After having kids, DJing really took a back seat until Ben moved house and his neighbours had a house party. It’s at this party where he met Kutclass and Constance K where he was introduced to the 45 phenomenon. Ben became addicted to 45s when he realised he could buy vinyl again cheaper than the price of a coffee. Charity shops became a new haunt looking for the OG’s that inspired many of the house tracks purchased and played over the years.
Butchy Bee
I have dj’ed on and off over the last 30 or so years but my love of vinyl & discovering new music has never waned. An early love of Hip Hop was essentially a gateway into the world of all things Funk. Over the last 18 months or so I have well & truly been bitten by the 45 bug.
Criztoz (45 Day)
Criztoz is the founder of 45 Day, a global celebration of 7” vinyl culture and its DJs. A versatile DJ, live streamer, talk show host, and community builder, he curates dynamic sets blending funk, reggae, hip-hop, Latin, and more—all spun exclusively on 7” vinyl.
Passionate about mental health advocacy, Criztoz hosts talk shows like Part of My Journey and 45 Day Show, offering DJs a platform to share their stories and openly discuss mental health. He is also the driving force behind 45 Kids, a project led by his daughter Zizi45, empowering young DJs and raising funds for children’s music therapy.
As an event organizer, Criztoz has taken the We Love 45s movement across the UK and internationally to Panama and Hamburg, uniting DJs and music lovers through inclusive and memorable events. His dedication to vinyl culture, community building, and philanthropy has made him a respected figure in the global 45s scene.
DeeJay Fade
Diggin’ in the crates since ’88… Fade is a UK based DJ, who gained early success while entering local DJ battles in the South West area.
He’s gone on to collaborate with several music artists from his home town of Gloucester (Incl. No Morals/Danger/Griz-O), as well as being recruited to teach DJing at his local Youth Service Head Quarters.
He has held DJ residencies across the South West & Midlands since 2001, in addition to working with music magazines (Big Daddy/Grandslam), major record labels (Atlantic/Warner – on campaigns for: Jay Z/J Cole/Lupe Fiasco etc) and music equipment brands (DJ Tech/Magma/Mixars) – while also featuring on various national & regional radio stations (BBC Radio 1/Deja Vu/Galaxy).
He’s shared stages with UK artists such as Children Of Zeus, Estelle, Skepta, Terri Walker & Wiley, as well as world-renowned international DJs like Yella (NWA) & Grandmaster Flash!
In 2010, he founded his own events brand “WAX”, as a response to the music industry’s hard push away from the vinyl record format.

DJ DSK
DSK was introduced to hip-hop and electro in the early ‘80s and immediately began B-boying, Graffiti and DJing before focusing on the music and turning to the tables. After making a name for himself as a DJ, he began to produce tracks . DSK now lives in China working as a DJ , producer and promoter.
Jake Detonator
Born in Hull, but now based in London, JAKe is an illustrator, designer, writer and animation director who has worked for clients worldwide, including a longstanding relationship with Lucasfilm ( Star Wars, Indiana Jones) He has also worked with The Mighty Boosh, The Prodigy, Comme Des Garçons, Ugly Duckling, Sugarhill Records Prince Fatty, Chali 2na and Krafty Kuts and to name but a few. His books include the acclaimed graphic novel, ‘Hellraisers’ (SelfMadeHero ), ‘How To Speak Wookiee’ and ‘How to Speak Droid with R2-D2’, ‘How To Speak Astromech with BB-8 ( Chronicle/Lucasfilm ) and ‘The Mammoth Book Of Street Art’ (Constable Robinson ). He has done remixes for The Love Theme, Feral Five, Chali 2na and Krafty Kuts and his debut hip hop 45 ‘Requiem For DOOM’ / ‘Stoneferry Morning’ is out soon on Dinked Records. Jawa Jones (Wanita Music)
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia Jawa Jones is a vinyl DJ known for spinning 60s soul, psych and SE Asian grooves. She has a residency at Spiritland and Walthamstow Trades Hall, London and has DJed at Freakout Fest Seattle, Beirut Groove Collective, Gargeville Hamburg and Barcelona Psych Festival, as well as an appearance on My Analog Journal.
Jawa is also the founder of Wanita Music, an initiative dedicated to championing female DJs and celebrating womxn in music.
JIm Sharp
Jim Sharp is a highly respected DJ, producer, and edit maestro, known for his expertly crafted hip-hop, funk, and soul-infused remixes. With a deep love for vinyl culture and an ear for seamlessly blending classic grooves with modern production techniques, Jim has built a reputation for creating high-quality edits and reworks that keep dancefloors moving. His releases on labels like Dusty Donuts and his own label have become essential crate staples for DJs worldwide. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Jim Sharp brings a signature style that bridges the old and the new with finesse.

Launched in September 2015, Dinked Records aims to put out quality Soul, Funk & Hip Hop – old & new – geared towards the dance floor and the 45 selectors.

Mz Monique
Moving to the UK at the age of 4, she went on to be influenced by the music played in the family household by both her parents and her older brother & sister, from Jimmy Cliff to Doug E Fresh and even Prince.
She started her DJ journey in 2022, when asked to spin a set for Record Store Day at Stroud institution… Trading Post Records.
Since then, she has been invited to DJ at The WAX Lounge (Stroud), Jazz Stroud Festival, We Love 45s (London), In The Corner All-Dayer (Cheltenham), The Good On Paper Party (Stroud) and Ska-N-Soul Fire (Brighton)!

Soul 45
There’s nothing like the depth and detail and sonic impact of a good vinyl record” says the SOUL 45 djs, Mark James and Disgo Dan, and they should know having championed the 7” format in Southampton and across the south over the last 10 years, bringing classic sounds to the forefront and putting vinyl back in the spotlight.
With a large collection of records between them, their diverse sets have taken them to spin at clubs in New York, Los Angeles and allowed them to play alongside some big international artists including Roy Ayres, Trojan Sound System, Soul II Soul , Trevor Nelson, Hot 8 Brass band, Charli 2na, Public Service Broadcasting, Norman Jay, Eddie Piller, Craig Charles, Don Letts and DJ Format to name just a few.
Their mission has always remained the same – paying tribute to forgotten and rediscovered Soul, funk Reggae and disco as well as stone cold classics you know and love . It’s an intimate dance party, driven by the warmth and richness of the 45 r.p.m. record – a complete custom-tailored night of music that doesn’t sound like anything else in the city.
