At 45 Day, we’re all about inclusivity — and we realised it was time to invite more than just 7″ vinyl spinners into the fold. That’s how 33 Day, the exciting spin-off to 45 Day, was born.

33 Day made its debut on 03 March 2022, featuring a series of 33 minute live-stream DJ sets on Twitch. DJs embraced the “Slo Mo” style, spinning 7″ vinyl — normally played at 45 RPM — at 33 RPM, unlocking a completely new spectrum of sounds and giving records a fresh, transformative feel. This concept was inspired by “Slo Mo Monday,” a long-standing weekly Twitch event created by Don Champ Sound and Barty Kutz, and hosted by Dr. Breasty Cray, where DJs worldwide experiment with slowed-down vinyl.

In 2023, 33 Day grew even bigger, featuring 26 DJs who recorded 33-minute sets with vinyl of all formats (3″, 5″, 7″, 10″, 12″, and even 16″) played at 33 RPM.

This was paired inb 2023 and 2024 with an epic 33 – hour live stream on Twitch, showcasing 33 DJs from around the globe on 03 March 2023.

33 Day 2024 – 03.03.2024

Want to be part of 33 Day 2024? Here’s how you can join the celebration of vinyl:

  1. Record a 33-Minute Mix

    • Create a 33-minute audio mix featuring vinyl played at 33 RPM.

    • Any genre or mix of styles is welcome—you can use vinyl played at its recommended 33 RPM, 45s played at 33, or a mix of both.

  2. Upload Your Mix

    • Once your mix is ready, upload it to your own Mixcloud page anytime from now until 03 March 2025.

    • Name your mix: “(DJ Name) mix for 33 Day 2025.”

    • If you do not have Mixcloud Pro or space on your channel – we can host the mix on our Mixcloud Channel. 

  3. Use These Tags

    • Add the tags: “vinyl,” “vinyl only,” “33 Day” and two additional tags of your choice. These tags will help your mix trend on Mixcloud.

  4. Include This Description

    • In your mix description, include the following text so listeners know what 33 Day is all about:

      “33 Day 2024 – 03.03.2024 – is a worldwide celebration of vinyl records with DJs from around the world recording a 33-minute 33rpm mix – https://www.Fortyfiveday.com“

  5. Share Your Mix Link

    • Email your Mixcloud link to me at fortyfiveday@gmail.com so I can add it to the website, your DJ profile page, and the 45 Day Mixcloud stream.

  6. For New Participants

    • If you’re new to 45 Day, please email me to confirm your participation and include:

      • A square photo of yourself or your logo.

      • A short bio.

      • Up to 3 social media links (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, etc.).
