Brighton holds a special place in the story of We Love 45s. In January 2023, the name We Love 45s was officially established, marking a new chapter in celebrating 7” vinyl culture. The very first event under this banner took place at The Druids, doubling as a birthday celebration for DeeJayFade and organised in collaboration with Colm Des. That night set the tone for what We Love 45s would become, a platform built on music, community, and connection through 45s.

Since then, We Love 45s has continued to grow in Brighton, hosting in store DJ sessions and events across some of the city’s most respected independent spaces. These include Rarekind Records, where the 45 Kids performed as part of the 4.5 Years of 45 Day celebrations, as well as Capsule Records and The Foundry. Regular sessions have also taken place at The Windmill, alongside a popular Sunday session at Block Brighton.

Beyond the events themselves, the Brighton We Love 45s scene has helped inspire DJs to launch their own standalone sessions, further strengthening the local 7” vinyl community and spreading the culture organically. What started as a single night has evolved into an ongoing collective uniting DJs, selectors, record collectors, and music lovers through a shared passion for 45s around the World.

We Love 45s Brighton continues to be a vital part of the wider We Love 45s movement, celebrating international sounds, grassroots venues, and vibrant community gatherings all powered by 7” vinyl.
