What is the Place I Call Home Mix?
Place I Call Home is a 45 minute 7 inch vinyl mix project celebrating where we’re from, or where we belong.
It’s about geography, roots, culture, and identity told through 7” records.
The Story Behind the 45 Day Place I Call Home Mix
With DJs spread across continents, this project reflects the true diversity of the 45 Day community.
The idea came from a personal place. I wanted to hear 45s from different parts of the world that I might never otherwise get to experience. Records shaped by local scenes, cultures, and lived experiences, all told through 7” vinyl.
“Home” doesn’t have to mean one thing. For some, it’s a country or a city. For others, it’s family roots, a scene they grew up in, or even a feeling that lives inside certain records. This project gives each DJ the freedom to define home in their own way.
Place I Call Home turns these individual stories into a shared global archive. A collection of 45 minute journeys that show how music connects us, no matter where we come from.

How to take Part
Record Your Mix
Create a 45 minute vinyl audio or video mix using:
7 inch vinyl
All genres are welcome.
Upload your mix
Upload to your own Mixcloud account; or
Send the recording to us. It can be hosted on the 45 Day Mixcloud channel if you do not have Mixcloud Pro or space on your own channel.
Name, Tag & Describe Your Mix
Please use the following format and tags so your mix can be found and shared easily:
