The story of We Love 45s began in Glasgow, where the very first event took place in August 2021, under the lingering shadow of COVID restrictions. Despite the challenges, DJs came together for the Sunday 7’s session at Some Great Reward Record Shop. The event was broadcast simultaneously on Twitch and Radio Buena Vida, and organised in collaboration with WeeG. What started as a cautious return to live events marked the beginning of a growing community built around 7” vinyl.

We returned to Glasgow in August 2022 for another special event at Vinyl Bar, organised by Nic Goodlife. The session brought together a strong lineup of DJs and featured a standout set from Zizi45, representing the 45 Kids, highlighting the next generation connecting with vinyl culture.

In 2024, Glasgow once again hosted a one day We Love 45s event, this time at McChuills, with WeeG returning to help organise the day. The packed room, vibrant atmosphere, and committed local selectors reaffirmed Glasgow’s importance as a key city within the We Love 45s movement.

That momentum continued with another McChuills event in August 2025, further cementing Glasgow as a regular home for We Love 45s. Having launched the live events journey here, Glasgow now continues with ongoing sessions, playing a central role in the evolution of the project.

We Love 45s in Glasgow is about more than individual events, it’s about long term community, shared culture, and celebrating 7” vinyl through consistent, inclusive gatherings.
