MissChivers

Yvette Chivers, AKA DJ MissChivers, has been a pioneer of blending old and new dance music for the past 20 years. A collector of records, including Motown, since the age of 16, it is no surprise where her influence has come from. She has spun in clubs and festivals both across the UK and further afield, including Ministry of Sound and Secret Garden Party, Berlin to Australia (a first for 2026!), never letting her degenerative vision loss hold her back.

DJ MissChivers’s main passion is breakbeat, with elements of house and DnB included, and her sets are always guaranteed to keep the dancefloor jumping with her eclectic tastes and influences. During her career, she has been involved with various facets of the dance music industry, working with legends such as Wolfgang Flur (ex-Kraftwork), OMD, Visage, Orbital, 808 State, Utah Saints and Talvin Singh.

After founding the international remix platform B-Side Project in 2009, Yvette focused on encouraging collaborations between musicians and electronic music producers worldwide and developing outreach for pro audio brands. As an experienced MC, festival stage compere and radio presenter, she has hosted live broadcast shows on a number of radio stations, including on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, festival radio at Secret Garden Party and Boardmasters, and since 2021 her radio show has now firmly found its home with the Point Blank Radio family.

MissChivers then ran Sync Inspire CIC, a not-for-profit agency which managed electronic music events across the UK, partnering with well renowned organisations such as Finger Lickin’ and Hospital Records, working with education establishments Access Creative, BIMM and Berklee Colleges, studios including Metropolis and Tileyard, as well as providing social media, marketing campaigns, live stream and physical events for pro audio brands and labels including Prism Sound, ADAM Audio, Tracktion Software and the newly relaunched Record Records. She also is a regular moderator and panelist at music industry events and writes a regular feature for DJ Mag. Although she decided to wind the company down in 2024 due to personal reasons, the Cambridge based Whoosh! Events in partnership with the legendary breakbeat label Finger Lickin still continue due to huge public demand, combining electronic music with fire performers and fireworks.

MissChivers launched the CMY Records label, who’s first release hit the digital platforms in March 2022. The EP, entitled “Directions”, comprised of four tracks she co-produced with Chris Carter (Record Records/TCR/Botchit & Scarper) and Trauma DBC (Mutant Species Records/Audio Danger), featuring Sydney on vocals.

She is also heavily involved with the international network “Forty Five Day” and “We Love 45s” putting on events in the UK and promoting the love of vinyl. New for 2026 is “We Love 45s” in Newcastle (NSW, Australia) where she is hosting an event alongside other 7” vinyl DJs including her brother Professor Crabb on 17th January! Now her business focus is The VIP Experience, whereby profits from running events and retreats, plus revenue from CMY Records and MissChivers’ DJ fees go into funding outreach projects with the intention of inspiring and creating more opportunities and accessibility for people with sight loss, whilst increasing awareness of the sometimes “hidden disability” to the wider public.
