SvoLanski
Svo’s interest in records and vinyl started, as he met a guy in school which had a pair of technics. It took a few years and a big move from smalltown to Hamburg City to get infected with Drum’n’Bass in 1998. He started buying records and together with his flatmate some turntables and mixer. Over the years he his shelves got filled with many records from different genres. So now he’s quite a lot into sounds from the mid 70’s to today. Funk, Soul, Disco, Jazz, AOR, Psychedelic, HipHop, … mostly everything that has a sunshine vibe or some kinda twist. He’s part of the Funk Bear Brothers DJ-Team, Co-Host of the “Welcome On Soul-Board” event and regular DJ at the Jazz Cafe / Mojo Club.

Crate Invader
Richard K aka Crate Invader (floor to ceiling radio London – vinyl 45 only radio station) I started collecting records at the age of 11 (a copy of Herbie Hancock’s Rockit from Woolworth’s) and nearly 40 years on I still haven’t stopped. Aged 16 it occurred to me that I couldn’t afford to feed my vinyl addiction by simply buying records from the record shops and so I started advertising in the classified’s. This has led to a lifetime of buying and selling hundreds of record collections of all sizes from 10 to 10,000. But my first and greatest love has always been for 45’s and after stints on various radio stations in London inc Point Blank FM and Kane FM, I decided to create my own vinyl 45 specific station and thus ‘floor to ceiling’ radio was born. Based in London we’ll be streaming live to the UK, US and Canada and worldwide via the radio apps. Launching May 8th, you can find out more at www.floortoceilingradio.com

Also releasing edits digitally (as Hoopty) and on his new imprint label, 45 Fanclub, with good mate Mexi out of Oregon, USA.

DJ Wronger
I am so excited to be a part of 45 day. I’ve DJ’d vinyl at raves, festivals and clubs for around 20 years. When I saw how serious the nightlife in my hometown was, me and my friend Lily set up GRL DEM, an all-female DJ collective, taking the festival and carnival atmosphere to the dancefloor. GRLDEM is about music equality and showcasing DJs, who happen to be women. But really it’s just about playing good music. I also run workshops teaching girls and women how to DJ. I love to play very silly mashups of dance music but this mix goes back to my funk and soul routes, with and a bit of cheeky disco thrown in. No effects, just raw 7 inch vinyl, with love, straight from the heart. x

Waxwrx
Been spinning records for 30+ years. Multiple residencies throughout the country in the 90s playing house and garage. Played multiple events in England and Europe alongside several high-profile Djs and acts such as Baby D, Grooverider, Pete Tong etc., as well as several regular Skate competitions spinning golden era Hip Hop. Grew up with a vinyl mad Dad who provided me with a rich and diverse tapestry of musical tastes.

Alex Conrad (The Mongolian Disco Show)
A lover of records both big and small… Having been schooled in the art of djing in the chill out rooms of the 90’s, ‘searching for the perfect beat’ has always meant leaving no stone unturned and a scant regard for genres. From Anatolian funk to the loosest of disco grooves, as ever, you can expect to go up, down… and sideways, all whilst keeping it somewhat casual.

Phunky Flavas
Lee (aka Phunkyflavas) was host DJ for the monthly eponymous Funk/Acid Jazz night which ran for many years in the 90s, playing to regular crowds of over 300 funky folk. Lee played out at many East Anglian venues throughout the decade, supporting touring bands to the area. Taking a long hiatus for career etc. Lee is now adding to his small but perfectly formed collection of funk 45s as lockdown and the FortyFive Kings Collective has reignited his passion for the format, and for loudly playing music and annoying everyone. Lee also hosted the hugely successful Spiral Indie Disco for nearly 10 years and this mix pays homage to that time.

DJ Chvare
DJ Chvare grew up listening to hip hop, funk, soul, jazz and reggae. Inspired by the old school sound of hip hop he started spinning records in local bars around Skopje when he was 17 and turned out to be one of the most distinguished DJs in Macedonia since. Having spent many years playing at all of the major local night clubs (alongside local hard-hitters and national acts alike), holding multiple residencies, DJing special events and promoting his own shows, DJ Chvare has had a lot of time to develop his sound in various styles and genres with a focus on hip hop, funk and jazz. Apart from his regular performances in Macedonia, he also performed abroad around the Balkans, Spain, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Thailand, Cyprus, Georgia etc.
