33 Day - 03.03.23

Here at 45 Day we like to be as inclusive as possible so we felt it was time to give everyone – not just 7″ vinyl spinners – the opportunity to become part of the community and record a mix. Hence 33 Day – the spin off to 45 Day was born.

33 Day first took place on 03 March 2022 and featured a series of 33 minute live stream DJ sets on Twitch. The DJ’s for that event played Slo Mo sets – the name given to DJ sets where 7″ vinyl which is meant to be played at 45rpm is played at 33rpm. This creates a whole different spectrum of sounds to a record gives it a whole new lease of life. Slo Mo Monday – created by Don Champ Sound and Barty Kutz – is a long standing weekly event run by Dr Breasty Cray on Twitch where DJ’s from around the world play records at slowed down speeds. 

33 Day 2023 is a much bigger affair which will involve DJ’s recording 33 minute sets of any format of vinyl (3″, 5″, 7″, 10″, 12″ and even 16″ ) played at 33rpm. 

This will be accompanied by a 33 hour live stream Twitch event featuring 33 DJ’s across 33 Hours from around the World on 03 March 2023. 

33 Day 2023 – 03.03.2023

If you would like to take part in 33 Day 2023 please record a 33 minute audio mix of vinyl played at 33rpm. This can be any genre/mix of styles and it can be vinyl played at the recommended speed of 33rpm, 45s played at 33 or a mix of both. 

Once your mix is recorded please upload it to your own Mixcloud page. This can be uploaded anytime from now until 03 March 2023. 

Please name your mix “(DJ Name) mix for 33 Day 2023”

Please use the tags “vinyl” “vinyl only” and “33 Day” and then two other tags of your choosing. Using these tags will hopefully help to get your mix into the Mixcloud trending charts. At one point this year we had 20 x 45 Day mixes in the top 50 vinyl and vinyl only charts including a double #1 for my good friend Mr Lob – co-founder of the Forty Five Kings Collective.

In the description of the mix please can you include the following so that people know what 33 Day is about:

“33 Day – 03.03.2023 – is a worldwide celebration of vinyl records with DJs from around the world recording a 33 minute 33rpm mix – https://www.Fortyfiveday.com”

Once your mix is uploaded please email me the link to the mix so that I can add it to the website, your DJ profile page and also to the 45 Day Mixcloud stream

If you are new to 45 Day please can you email me – fortyfiveday@gmail.com – to confirm that you will be taking part and send me the following as soon as possible:

  1. Square pic of you/your logo
  2. Short bio
  3. Maximum of 3 social media profile links eg Facebook/Instagram/twitch etc
