We Love 45s arrived in Düsseldorf for the first time with a full weekend of events created to celebrate Sideshow Maule’s 45th birthday, turning the occasion into a true showcase of 7” vinyl culture, community, and connection.
The weekend opened at Bar Konvex, where we brought Sideshow’s much loved 7 Deadly 7s concept into a live, in person setting. DJs stepped up to deliver rapid-fire sets of their deadliest selections on 45, setting the tone for an unforgettable weekend.
From there, the focus shifted to a Hip Hop jam at a local dance studio, where Sideshow teaches. The session featured breakdancers he has taught over the years, local crews, and a special routine performed alongside his younger pupils, a powerful moment highlighting the impact of culture, mentorship, and community through music and movement.
Saturday night saw the weekend close with a varied and energetic club night at the underground bunker venue Schleuse Zwei, bringing together an eclectic mix of sounds, selectors, and dancers to round off the celebrations in style.
The success of the weekend has since sparked something new. Rolling Adam has gone on to develop We Love 45s Düsseldorf Club Sessions, laying the foundation for future club-focused events in the city.
